First steps on what to do when you're running reports in Edge and they're appearing cut off, with missing information, or missing margins.
Setting a Windows Default Printer
As a first step in correcting this issue, you will want to make sure your chosen printer is set as the Windows Default Printer.
Report previews are pulled both from Windows and Edge Printer Settings, so making sure you have a default printer selected is the best first step in correcting this issue.
To verify you have a default printer set, or to set one, please follow these steps:
- In Windows, navigate to your Control Panel > Devices & Printers.
- Right click on your printer and click Set as Default.
- You will know it's set correctly when it has the green check mark on it.
Setting Printers Within Edge
Steps to properly setup printer options within The Edge after your printer is set as the Windows Default Printer:
NOTE: We suggest you check the settings on each of the 3 printer settings (Receipts, List, and Report), as the same trouble often applies to all of these types.
- Open Edge and click File > Printer Settings and select Receipt, List, or Report.
- Choose the correct printer from the drop-down menu.
- Then fill in each of the following settings:
Paper Size: Letter or 8½ x 11
Paper Source: Automatically Select
Resolution: Custom
Duplex: Default
Orientation: Landscape
Important - Set ALL FOUR Margins to 0.25
NOTE: Printer margins are set independently at each workstation. Take the time to ensure all 3 printer settings (Receipts, List, and Report) are setup accurately on ALL Edge workstations in order for your reports to show correctly within The Edge on each computer.
