Editing a Customer


It is possible to edit all details on an existing customer record with the exception of the customer number;  this is assigned by The Edge and cannot be changed.

enlightenedIn order to edit a customer you must find them. See Customer Find Filter for details on searching for customers; there is a wide variety of criteria available. This filter is used throughout the software; understanding it is paramount to getting the most out of Edge reporting, marketing, and more.

There are three ways to edit a customer record.

From the Edge main menu:

  1. Click Customer > Find.  Enter search criteria and click OK.
  2. Select and edit the customer or double click on them.
  3. Make desired changes and save them.
From Point of Sale:
  1. Open POS.
  2. Click Find Cust in the top left, enter search criteria, and click OK.
  3. Double click the customer's name or click the Notes/Edit button to open the customer record.
  4. Make desired changes and save them.

From the Customer Display:

There are two system options to activate the Customer Display.  

  • Use Customer Display for Edits enables it in place of the old customer record when editing from the Edge main menu.  
  • Show Customer Display enables it at POS when a customer is selected.
